Born and raised in the city of San Francisco, Boogie Brown started DJing in 1989, at a time when the mobile DJ scene flourished throughout the Bay Area. He was inspired to start DJing after being mesmerized watching a friend’s older brother mix records seamlessly from one song to another one afternoon in their garage. Since then he’s been working at mastering his craft: starting out in middle school playing house parties and doing mobile gigs; to hosting his own college radio show, “Wild Style Wednesdays”, at Cal State Hayward; to rocking nightclubs across the country; and producing numerous popular mixtapes.

Growing up during hip-hop’s golden era and being surrounded by the Bay Area’s bubbling turntablist scene heavily influenced his DJing style and approach. With over two decades of experience behind the decks under his belt, his musical versatility, turntable technicality, and energetic mixing style has established Boogie Brown as one of the Bay Area's top party rockers. In 2020, Boogie Brown became a member of the prestigious Triple Threat DJs (along with DJs Apollo, Shortkut, Vinroc, Kool Raul, and Kid Dee).

Boogie Brown's mixed CD’s “Dedicated” and “Legends of Soul” have created quite a buzz, garnering accolades from mixtape connoisseurs and some of hip-hop's most influential figures. Currently, you can catch him playing anything from hip-hop, to reggae dancehall, to soul and R&B, in numerous night clubs and lounges across the country.
